For the next year, I will be living in Grand Teton National Park while studying at Teton Science School’s graduate program. The TSS graduate program is designed to develop leaders in place-based teaching, field ecology and experiential education.  As I learn about the ecology of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, I will be sharing my learning and teaching experience through writing, pictures, videos and drawings.

I graduated from St. Olaf College with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in the Spring of 2013. Through St. Olaf, I have studied biology in Ecuador and the desert Southwest. I conducted research on the population and conservation genetics of softshell turtles with Dr. Steve Freedberg, and we are currently in the process of publishing our research.

  1. Hi there,

You have a beautiful blog. I stumbled upon this looking for a picture of the arctic grayling for a report for a non-profit called Mission:Wildlife. I am designing the report for them and we desperately need a good close-up picture of the dorsal fin. Would it be possible for us to use one of yours? We will give full attribution and can even link to your blog, but we do not have any budget for photos. Please feel free to email me back instead.

    Thanks very much!
